Hailey is 6 months old!

I cannot believe how quickly the last 6 months have gone by.  Every parent I know tells me that this is nothing compared to what is coming.  “Just wait until she is 17” seems to be a common response.  I hope Brenda and I can take the admonitions to heart.  We truly treasure our beautiful girls and we are having a ball watching them grow.

I have added many new albums on our Public Photo Album.  Use the link in the right hand navigation area to check some of them out.   We also tend to keep things a bit more current on Facebook, where we can post single pics and quick updates throughout the day.

It’s fall and that means football.  And football season means UT home football games and tailgate parties.  That keeps us pretty busy most weekends.

Grace has started going to Mother’s Day Out this fall as well.  It is amazing to see how much she has opened up.  We have noticed it, especially when Grace plays with other kiddos at a playground now.

Hailey is growing a lot and we are seeing lots of her “firsts”.  We know she is ‘this close’ to crawling.  She gets up on all fours and rocks, then she gets mad and just lays down and swims on the carpet.  Its pretty funny, but she does get a little ticked off about it.  I can’t imagine where she gets her temper from… we will just blame it on the Wiseman side for now!!  :)

Grace has a secret!

We took some cute pictures of Grace that we thought we would share. Brenda had her doctor's appointment today, and we are excited to share the news! Brenda is pregnant! The nurse said she is 8 weeks and 3 along making her due date April 24th. We have known for awhile but wanted to wait until her first visit before we shared our news. Please celebrate with us and pray for a happy and healthy pregnancy. The irony of the shirt is that we haven't told Grace yet, although she has been talking about a baby brother or baby sister for months now. It's kind of funny, we would ask her, "would you like a baby brother or a baby sister?" To which she always relied "Yes!". So we would ask her, "Which one?" "I hold baby brother, you hold baby sister!" Brenda is feeling fine. She has had more nausea this time around, but no actual morning sickness, so we are counting our blessings. Its been hard to keep it a secret, Brenda has been very tired, so our...

C'mon Mom, it's just PB and J!

When Mommy makes Grace a sandwich, she takes lots of time to cut the sandwich in small, manageable pieces for Grace. Mommy also has a thing for clean fingers, clean hair and hopefully clean ears. There is certainly nothing wrong with this approach. I applaud her enthusiasm for Grace's manners. However, sometimes... well, come on... really. It is just peanut butter and jelly. At this point, I should probably take a moment to thank the sponsors of this particular blog entry, Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Gramma's Strawberry Preserves. Gramma's Strawberry Preserves and Peach Butter is only available at a small pantry in Tyler, TX. She doesn't advertise, she doesn't sell her products online, heck, she doesn't even sell her products period... But those in the know, know where to go to get their jelly fix. Since I am down to my last jar of Strawberry Preserves, and I am completely out of Peach Butter, it must be about time for another journey to East Texas. Since Gramm...

Snow Day in Austin

We didn’t’ get the 3 to 4 inches that were predicted for our area, and it didn’t snow all night and all morning as our weatherman said it would, but we did wake up this morning to a thin blanket of white fluffy snow in our yard this morning.  It wasn’t enough to make a decent snowman, and the snow wasn’t wet enough to pack a good snowball, but the girls had fun.  We slept in this morning and had a good hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, biscuits and homemade jams and apple butter and then got the girls bundled up in several layers of warm clothes.  The sun was well up by the time we got outside and the snow was already beginning to melt.  The girls played outside maybe an hour, just long enough to get good and cold and then they came in to watch their Tinkerbell movie.  This afternoon, we will head over to the Y and hit the Family Pool to burn off some more energy and come home to make homemade pizzas and watch a cartoon movie before bed...
