Grace Sleeps over at Gram and Granddad's House

As we are getting ready for Hailey's arrival, we decided it was a good idea to "test" out a sleepover at Gram's, since Grace will be spending the night there while Mommy and Hailey are in the hospital. Gram sent us this update last night and I thought it was sweet enough to share.

Dear Mommy & Daddy,

I've had a good day but I have been coughing and been a little moody.

Buuuuuttt . . . Grandad took me out in the garage. He put me up on his work stool and taught me about the . . .

. . . .. . tape measure

. . . the sanding block. . and

. . . . the finger joint jig.

That was really fun!!!

I didn’t want to eat stuffed peppers tonight so I ate my carrots. Then Gram got 4 of my little spoonfuls of stuffed peppers in me by promising bites of applesauce! I LOVE applesauce! :)

After supper I got to go to HEB with Grandad! Woohoo!!! I was so good in the store and helped bring things into the house so Grandad said I deserved a little treat . . . .

STRAWBERRIES!!!!!!

Oh yeah!! I enjoyed them.

I went to bed at 8:45 just fine but Gram could tell I was a little nervous so she checked on my every 15 minutes. I stayed in bed but stared at the fish tank.

Finally . . . Gram came in at 9:45 and I was sound asleep!!!

Love you, Gracie

C'mon Mom, it's just PB and J!

When Mommy makes Grace a sandwich, she takes lots of time to cut the sandwich in small, manageable pieces for Grace. Mommy also has a thing for clean fingers, clean hair and hopefully clean ears. There is certainly nothing wrong with this approach. I applaud her enthusiasm for Grace's manners. However, sometimes... well, come on... really. It is just peanut butter and jelly. At this point, I should probably take a moment to thank the sponsors of this particular blog entry, Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Gramma's Strawberry Preserves. Gramma's Strawberry Preserves and Peach Butter is only available at a small pantry in Tyler, TX. She doesn't advertise, she doesn't sell her products online, heck, she doesn't even sell her products period... But those in the know, know where to go to get their jelly fix. Since I am down to my last jar of Strawberry Preserves, and I am completely out of Peach Butter, it must be about time for another journey to East Texas. Since Gramm...

Grace has a secret!

We took some cute pictures of Grace that we thought we would share. Brenda had her doctor's appointment today, and we are excited to share the news! Brenda is pregnant! The nurse said she is 8 weeks and 3 along making her due date April 24th. We have known for awhile but wanted to wait until her first visit before we shared our news. Please celebrate with us and pray for a happy and healthy pregnancy. The irony of the shirt is that we haven't told Grace yet, although she has been talking about a baby brother or baby sister for months now. It's kind of funny, we would ask her, "would you like a baby brother or a baby sister?" To which she always relied "Yes!". So we would ask her, "Which one?" "I hold baby brother, you hold baby sister!" Brenda is feeling fine. She has had more nausea this time around, but no actual morning sickness, so we are counting our blessings. Its been hard to keep it a secret, Brenda has been very tired, so our...

Snow Day in Austin

We didn’t’ get the 3 to 4 inches that were predicted for our area, and it didn’t snow all night and all morning as our weatherman said it would, but we did wake up this morning to a thin blanket of white fluffy snow in our yard this morning.  It wasn’t enough to make a decent snowman, and the snow wasn’t wet enough to pack a good snowball, but the girls had fun.  We slept in this morning and had a good hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, biscuits and homemade jams and apple butter and then got the girls bundled up in several layers of warm clothes.  The sun was well up by the time we got outside and the snow was already beginning to melt.  The girls played outside maybe an hour, just long enough to get good and cold and then they came in to watch their Tinkerbell movie.  This afternoon, we will head over to the Y and hit the Family Pool to burn off some more energy and come home to make homemade pizzas and watch a cartoon movie before bed...
